Do you play a hunter? Well, you simply cannot be quick enough if you don’t use certain macros. So, in this post I’m going to review a WoW hunter macro that shouldn’t be missing from any hunter’s keybinding.

I’m talking about the Trap Launcher WoW hunter macro. You probably have noticed by now in PvP or PvE hunters shooting all their traps almost instantly right? It’s because they use this macro.

So, first, I’m going to write it down and then I’m going to explain it.

Now, this WoW hunter macro combines all four of the most important traps that you need in PvP, with the Trap Launcher, all under the same button. In other words, it will save you a lot of quickbar slots and save you plenty of precious seconds when you need to improvise.

So, how does this WoW hunter macro work?

It’s quite simple. Let’s say that you have bound it on the key “X”.

- If you press “X” 2 times, your Freezing Trap will be ready to launch, you’ll get the launch target at your mouse cursor;
- If you press “ALT+X”, Ice Trap will be ready to launch;
- If you press “Shift+X”, you’ll be ready to launch your Explosive Trap;
- If you press “CTRL+X”, you’ll have your Snake Trap ready to shoot.

You can leave your #showtooltip without any specification. I gave the Trap Launcher icon to my WoW hunter macro for traps, but if you choose the question mark and leave the #showtooltip without a destination, everytime you press this macro, it will change the icon, showing you which trap you’ve selected and are ready to shoot.

I’m going to speak in this post about a very useful WoW macro that you can use not only in PvP, but also in raids. This macro for WoW is so plain and simple, yet so useful, you’ll get addicted to it.

I’m talking about the “focus” macro. This WoW macro is extremely easy to write. Just pick a tooltip, I usually choose something that looks like a bullseye to make it more suggestive, and then type in:

/focus

It’s that simple. Now, if you will select something and then hit this useful WoW macro, the focus frame will appear on your screen. This way, you’ll always see the HP and mana of the selected target. Of course, you won’t need to put your focus on a group member, because you’ll see their HP and mana in the group frame, but in arena, it’s always good to know how much HP and mana has the opposite team’s healer for example.

Now, considering this macro, you can build multiple other useful WoW macros which involve a focused target. For example, if your team leader says that you should keep an enemy player under crowd control, setting an order for the players in your team to CC, it’s best to have a macro that looks like this:

/cast [target=focus] Sheep

Or you can use any other ability to crowd control, like Blind, Freezing Trap, Fear etc.

A macro like this, is a very useful WoW macro especially in arena. For example, keeping the enemy healer under CC, you will manage to defeat at least one of the other enemy players more easily. A similar macro to this one should be part of any World of Warcraft player’s keybinding.

Well, depending on the race, class and spec that you play, there’s always a macro that you can consider the best WoW macro. For example, for me, the best macro is the one that changes weapons, stances and also burns the Shield Wall or Spell Reflection. Yes, you may have guessed, I play a warrior.

Anyway, looking for the best WoW macro for your class, might not be the best solution for improvement, or for arena advancing. Also, don’t think that the complicated a macro is, the better. In certain situation, a very simple macro can prove to be the best.

For example, if you’re in arena and you have to kill one of the opponents quickly, what can be better than a macro for WoW that burns all your damaging cooldowns? In a situation like that, for sure, that macro will be the best WoW macro, no matter what DPS class you play.

Also, many players think that it’s best to use as many macros for WoW as possible. That’s wrong. The more you have in your keybinding, the more your gameplay will be more restrictive. Therefore, keep your WoW macros simple and effective, and your keybinding clean and balanced.
